Getting Started

Basic User

If you are using SpagoBI for the first time, we suggest you follow these steps:

• Download All-in-one. This package contains a vanilla installation of SpagoBI running on Tomcat, all engines already configured for you, and a simple demo of SpagoBI functionalities.
• Unzip and start the Tomcat server using startup.bat
• Open the browser and type http://localhost:8080/SpagoBI
• Login as the default user: biadmin/biadmin or bidemo/bidemo
• Now you are ready to play with the demo and explore SpagoBI engines functionalities.

Advanced User

This section is meant for more experienced users, who are already familiar with SpagoBI basic configuration.

• If you want to change SpagoBI Meta Data, go here.
• If you want to create a new SpagoBI installation from scratch (with no examples) you can either choose to:
  • Install SpagoBI single components following the steps described here, or
  • Install the  All-in-one package, create a new SpagoBI metadata DBMS ( for example using MySQL ...) and change the SpagoBI configuration to use this new DBMS schema, as described here.
